Here’s to the Holiday Season

I’m no stranger to fall and winter, however after 11 years spent in South Texas- it takes a little getting used to again. The leaves are red, brown, and green, and the weather has definitely taken a dip in temperature. Richmond, Virginia has proved itself to be outstandingly beautiful.

It’s shocking to realize that I’ve been here for almost a year. It’s been an exciting, experience filled year. And now the holidays are once again, upon us. I consider October to be the start of the Holiday Season, simply for personal reasons. October through December are filled with a whirlwind of anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays. I start to mentally prepare for this season in August. I’m excited for the chance to do some low-budget holiday shopping and buy Christmas presents (for the first time!) for my in-laws!

Last Christmas, with a 1500 mile move complete, Marissa and I opted for a very inexpensive Christmas. We bought a small tree, and some bright but quaint decorations. I put my crafting skills to work and together we made a very happy home for our first Christmas together.
